E. Rae Parks

E. Rae Parks, 65, of Orange Hill Rd., Athens, Pa passed away peacefully Friday evening, November 30, 2007. Rae as she was affectionately known by her family and friends was born on August 1, 1942 in Towanda, Pa a daughter of Helen (Zeller) and the late Elmer Crain. She attended school at Northeast Bradford and for many years was employed at M & T Bank. Rae enjoyed gardening, reading, refinishing antique furniture, tending to her landscaping, knitting and was a talented seamstress. Although her greatest pleasure and enjoyment was spending time with her family. Rae is survived by her husband of 22 years Donald R. Parks; her mother and step-father Helen and Ansel Young of Elmira, NY; her daughters Barbara and Tom Strope of Granville, Pa; Sharon and Rudy Sanchez of San Antonio, TX; Carol Holle of Athens, Pa; step daughters Renee and her husband James Kellogg of E. Smithfield, Amy and Lance Lattimer of Sayre, Pa; a brother and sister-in-law James and Linda Crain of Ulster; sisters and brother-in-law: Connie and Vern Peck of Ulster; Lora Antisdel of Warren Center; her special grandchildren~who meant the world to her: Erin (Robert) Butler, Bart (Takako) Matthews, Devon Matthews and fianc Adam Pepper, Cody Winsor, Kristina (Seth) Schafer, Emily Lattimer, Seth Lattimer, Donald Kellogg, Logan Kellogg, and Alex Kellogg. Two great grandchildren Wyatt Butler and Takara Matthews; her father-in-law Daryl Parks; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Carolyn and Dewey Russell; Judy and Dick Tobbe, James and Debbie Parks, Sandy and Walt Robinson, Penny and Roy Peterman. Her Aunts Millie and Dottie, several nieces, nephews and their families also survive. Rae was predeceased by her father Elmer Crain, a brother-in-law Leigh Antisdel, her mother-in-law Betty M. Thetga Parks, and a grandson Brandon George. A time of remembering the special gift Rae was to all of us will be held on Monday, December 3rd 2007 at 1pm at the Sutfin Funeral Chapel, 273 South Main St., Nichols with Pastor Ron Dyer and Pastor C. Kenneth Crain, officiating. Interment will follow in the Orange Hill Cemetery. A period of visitation and sharing memories will be held on Monday from 10 am until time of the service.
