Earle R. “Sonny” Heyman
of Owego, NY
Earle R. "Sonny" Heyman, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on March 15, 2026, at Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, PA. Born on February 21, 1939, in Englewood, New Jersey, Sonny lived a full and vibrant life that touched the hearts of everyone he knew. Sonny was the beloved husband of Janice (Fitchpatrick) Heyman, who was by his side since their marriage on October 5, 1957. Together, they built a beautiful life and a family that includes their children Earle (Janice) Heyman, Jeff (Lynn) Heyman, Lorrie (Carl) Fredenburg, Joanne (Earl) Jacobs, Tammie Thomas (Chris Karasek), and Charles (Joanna) Heyman. Sonny's legacy continues through his grandchildren Jody, Michele, Jeffrey, David, Bryon, Amy Jo, Nicholas, Heather, Christopher, Cassandra, Derak, Kyle, and several great-grandchildren. His sister and brother-in-law, Kathi and Richard Andress, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and their families, will miss Sonny's presence in their lives. He was predeceased by his parents, Earle M. and Bertha (Mayer) Heyman, as well as his siblings Patricia (Ray) Horton, Barbara (Bernard "Barney") Vallilee, Johanna Franciscovich. A patriot at heart, Sonny left school in the 11th grade to serve his country in the United States Air Force. His sense of duty and commitment to hard work continued throughout his life, as he spent 25 years as a dedicated delivery driver for Agway and Grand Union. His children fondly recall accompanying him on deliveries, a testament to his love for family and his unwavering work ethic. Sonny also owned and operated Earle's Hotsy, a pressure washing business that served many in Tioga and Bradford County.
Abiding with his wishes, there will be no services. As we bid farewell to our husband, dad, brother and grandpa we take comfort in the love he shared, the lives he enriched, and the indelible mark he left on this world. His story does not end with his passing but continues in the hearts and memories of his family, who will honor his legacy by living life with the same courage and passion he exemplified. Sonny's journey through life was a testament to the power of love, hard work, and the importance of family, and he will be deeply missed.
