Edward M. Curley, Jr., 77, of West River Road, Nichols passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 13, 2010 with his family at his side. Edward was born on October 6, 1932 in New Hope, Pa a son of the late Alice (Bair) and Edward M. Curley, Sr. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and proudly served his country during the Korean Conflict. On May 24, 1953 in Kingland, Georgia he married Esther B. Torn and together they raised three sons. Ed was department head for plumbing and heating for the Pennsbury School System until he retired in 1976. In addition Ed also held a Master Plumbing License in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, Binghamton and triple city area. Following his retirement Ed and Esther moved and made Nichols their home. Ed is survived by his wife of 57 years Esther B. Curley of Nichols; son Michael C. Curley and fianc Marilyn Wilkes of Brookfield, CT; sister-in-law Kathryeen Torn Lite of Burlington, IA; five grandchildren, four great grandchildren several nieces, nephews and their families also survive. Ed was predeceased by his parents, sons Edward G. Curley and Daniel L. Curley; sister Roberta M. Wolfe. Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial services on Thursday, June 17, 2010 at 4 pm at the Sutfin Funeral Chapel, 273 S. Main St., Nichols with Father William Moorby, officiating. A period of visitation and time of sharing memories will be held on Thursday from 3 pm until the time of the services.
