Elaine Joyce Bennett

Elaine Joyce Bennett, 70, of E. River Rd., Nichols, New York passed away following a courageous battle with Cancer on Saturday, August 25, 2007 at the Robert Packer Hospital. Elaine was born on December 16, 1936 in Endicott, NY a daughter of the late Arthur and Leda (Leonard) Thurber. She attended school in Nichols and later beauty school in Elmira. She enjoyed traveling to Florida, camping at "Sunflower Acres" in Addison, NY and loved to visit casinos. Although her greatest pleasure was being surrounded by her family. Elaine is survived by her husband of 40 years William Bennett; her children Trudy and husband Ralph Blue; Belinda and husband Stephen Haner; Tammy Barnard; step children Theresa Hathaway and Beth Bennett; her sisters Deann Tucker and Sandra Turrell; grandchildren: Jennifer, Melinda, Tanya, Miranda, Mark, Aubrey, Jeffrey, Lucas, Jenny, Tyler, Michael and Connor. Great grandchildren MacKenzie, Breanna, Cameron, Tony, Jessie, Sean and Madison. Several nieces and nephews also survive. She was predeceased by her parents, and siblings Stella Thurber and Don Snyder. A private family memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family.
