Elaine L. Brown

Elaine L. Brown, 84, of Covington, Pa passed away on Monday, January 3, 2011 following a period of declining health. Elaine was born on October 4, 1926 in Ashland, PA a daughter of the late Oscar and Ina (Brown) Larrabee. On September 5, 1947, she married James R. Brown and together they made Windham their home until 1971 when they moved to Covington and made their home there. She enjoyed tending to her flower garden and bird watching. Elaine is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law: Andrea and David Rosen; Julane and Carl Miller; her son Joseph L. Brown; daughter-in-law: Cheryl Brown; sisters and brothers-in-law: Gloria and Willard Moshier; Peggy and Jospeh Bishop; grandchildren: Julie Sosnowski, Joy (Ron) Dowling, Joseph (Kristin) Rosen, Roberta Rosen, Jim (Helen) Brown, John (Jessie) Brown, Christina (John) Husbeen, Carl Miller, Keith (Carey) Miller, Lesa (John) Pino and Todd Trimm. Twelve great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and their families also survive. Elaine was predeceased by her husband James R. Brown on March 25, 2005; son Robert J. Brown on August 18, 2010; siblings Jean and Oscar. Funeral services and a celebration of Elaine's life will be held on Saturday, January 8, 2011 at 1 pm at the Sutfin Funeral Chapel, 273 S. Main St., Nichols. A period of visitation and time of sharing memories will be held on Saturday from 11 am until the time of the service at 1pm.
