Elinor M. Budine

of Nichols, NY

Elinor Mae Biedekapp Budine passed peacefully into her Lord and Savior’s loving arms and reunited with her beloved husband, Ralph, on Thursday, February 20, 2025. She was born on November 18, 1930 to Irvin and Hilda Biedekapp in Walton, NY. After graduating from Walton Central School where she was a cheerleader and was the Bell of the Ball, she enrolled in and graduated from Broome County Technical Institute with a degree as a medical assistant. For seven years she worked at Smith Hospital for Dr. Walter Eells. In September 1956, Elinor married Ralph Bartlett Budine with whom she had four children, George Irvin Budine, baby girl Budine, Jonathan Ralph Budine and Julie Ann Budine. For many years she enjoyed being a homemaker and caring for her children until her husband’s passing in 1984. In the years that followed Elinor worked at Guthrie Clinic in Sayre, PA as a medical secretary until her retirement. One of Elinor’s greatest endeavors was her involvement in the Owego Assembly of God Church, where she was one of the original members. Elinor lived her Christian witness in deed, every day of her life. She was a friend to all and offered a kind word or comfort to anyone.

Elinor is predeceased by her husband, Ralph, her infant daughter and her brother, Wilbur. She is survived by her children, George (Sue), Jonathan (Susie) and Julie (Mike Schneider). She is also survived by her eight grandchildren, Sarah (Rob), Mikki (Zach), Martha (Bryan), Emily, Andrew, Katie, Megan, and Allison, and two great grandsons, Jameson and Beckham. In addition, she is survived by her sister-in-law, Cindy Biedekapp, several nieces and nephews and her dear friend and travel companion, Barbara Harris.
