Elizabeth "Betty" C. Walter

Elizabeth C. "Betty" Walter, 85 of Stateline Rd., Nichols, passed away Thursday, August 9, 2012 at the Robert Packer Hospital, Sayre, PA following a period of declining health. Betty was born on August 5, 1927 in Norwalk, CT a daughter of Richard and Adelina Cogswell. Betty worked at the Nichols Telephone Company in her earlier years. She then worked at IBM and Sears, prior to staying home to be a housewife and mother. She enjoyed cooking, playing computer games and chatting with friends on the computer. She will be greatly missed by her sons, Brian Walter, Timothy Walter both of Nichols, Terry (Barbara) Walter of CA; a brother-in-law: Joel Huhtanen; three special grandchildren: Aurel, Donielle, Teagan and Quentin. Her nephews, Richard Lindeborne and David Lindeborne. She was predeceased by her husband Ralph Walter in 1997 and her sister Jeanette Huhtanen. A period of visitation and time of sharing memories will be held on Tuesday, August 14th from 10 to 12 pm at the Sutfin Funeral Chapel, 273 S. Main St., Nichols. Funeral services and a celebration of Betty's life will follow at 12pm. Interment and prayers of committal will follow in the Nichols Cemetery.
