Elizabeth M. Jones, 90 Gone yet not forgotten, although we are apart~your spirit lives within us and you are forever in our hearts….Our loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother Elizabeth M. Jones, 90, of Battle Creek Road, Rome Twp., (RD1, Ulster, PA) passed away on Saturday, January 5, 2008 at the Towanda Memorial Hospital. Elizabeth was born on August 10, 1917 in Rome, Pa a daughter of George and Nettie (Strope) Harrington. She also was a 50 plus year member of the Rome United Methodist Church; enjoyed daily walks and the companionship of her cat "Tillie". Elizabeth was devoted to her family and treasured the time spent with all of them. Elizabeth is survived by her daughter and son-in-law: Shirley and Duane Phillips of Rome, Pa; her sons and daughters-in-law: Charles and Mary Jones of North Orwell; Raymond and Sharon Jones of Ulster; a sister-in-law: Louisa Harrington of RR1, Ulster; her special grandchildren: Robin and her husband Fred Wiginton, Kalesta and her husband Marc Retter; Carlyn and her husband Patrick Murphy; Shelly and her husband Todd Raymond, Susan and her husband Michael Serfass; Duane Jr. and his wife Jackie Phillips; Kay and her husband Michael Low; Kathy and her husband Bob Coon; Richard and his wife Jennifer Jones; Ray Jones, Lori Fenton, Lynn and her husband Craig Bennett; 26 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and their families also survive. She was predeceased by her husband of 63 years Edward LeRoy Jones on June 3, 1998; her son Edward LeRoy Jones, Jr. on June 29, 1988; brother Charles Harrington and a grandson Alan Phillips on March 30, 1974. A time of remembering and celebration of Elizabeth's life will be held on Tuesday, January 8th at 1 pm at the Sutfin Funeral Chapel, 273 South Main St., Nichols with her pastor Rev. K. Ben Robinson, officiating. Interment and prayers of committal will follow in the Rome Cemetery. A period of visitation and sharing memories will be held on Tuesday from 11 am until the time of the service at the funeral chapel.
