Ella M. Rought

Our loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend Ella M. Rought, 83, of Candor and for many years of LeRaysville, Pa passed away Tuesday morning, August 16, 2011 following a brief period of declining health. Ella was born on May 14, 1928 in Jessup Township, Pa a daughter of the late William H. and Jennie M. (McGinnis) Ovens. She was a graduate of the LeRaysville High School and for many years owned and operated Rought's Garage in LeRaysville with her husband Marvin. Together they were married 44 years, until his passing on July 4, 1994. Many will remember Ella for her wit and 'tell it like it is' attitude. Ella is survived by her children: Marlene (Mike) Dziuba of Pennsville, NJ; Stan (Norma) Rought of Yuba City, CA; Dianna (Scott) Bennett of Candor, NY; Bill (Colleen) Rought of Wysox, PA; a brother Robert Ovens of Bridgeport, CT; sisters: Esther Meager of Endicott, NY; Alice Mykovitch of Johnson City, NY; Jeanette McKercher of Binghamton, NY; Lois Lindemuth of Phila., Pa; her grandchildren: Thom (Dawn) Dziuba, Victoria Dziuba ; Jason Rought ; Andrea Bennett; Melissa Rought, Nicole Rought and Bill Rought. Several nieces, nephews and their families also survive. Ella was predeceased by her husband Marvin L. Rought and a brother William "Bill" Ovens and sister Dorothy Petrick. Family and friends are invited to a period of visitation and time of sharing on Monday, August 22 nd from 2 to 4 pm at the Sutfin Funeral Chapel, 273 S. Main St., Nichols. A gathering for family and friends will be held following calling hours at the home of Dianna and Scott Bennett.
