Emily B. Lowin

A mother holds her children's hands for a little while and their hearts forever….Our loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, Emily B. Lowin, 80, formerly of Barton, NY passed away on Tuesday, April 29, 2014. Emily was born on February 19, 1934 in Binghamton, NY a daughter of Grant and Florence (Dailey) Bell. She was a graduate of Owego Free Academy and attended Ridley Lowell Business Institute. Emily was a member of the Barton United Methodist Church. She enjoyed gardening, playing the piano and organ, baking, playing cards ~ although her greatest pleasure was being surrounded by her family. Emily was predeceased by her husband of 51 years, Albert A. "Al" Lowin on April 5, 2007. She will be greatly missed by her sons: David Lowin of Auburn, NY; Bruce Lowin of Albany; Jonathan and his wife Lynda Lowin of Hammondsport, NY; her brothers and sister-in-law: Ronald "Bud" and Carol Bell of Owego; Robert "Bob" Bell of Barton; her grandchildren: Jesseca, Brittany, Deanna, Alyssa, Jonathan, Matthew, Aaron and Natalie; four great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and their families also survive. Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service and celebration of Emily's life on Sunday, May 4, 2014 at 2 pm at the Barton United Methodist Church with Pastor Alan Bill, officiating. A refreshments and time of sharing will follow the service.
