Erma J. Norton

Erma J. Norton, 85, of Waverly, New York and formerly of Conklin, New York went home to be with her Lord on Monday, April 20, 2020. Erma was born on November 25, 1934 in Canisteo, NY a daughter of the late Claude H. and Ethel (Silsbee) Norton. She attended school at Tioga Central and was a graduate of Owego Free Academy class of 1952. For many years, Erma was employed as a secretary for WBNG Television Station. Erma was a devoted member of the Nichols Baptist Church, enjoyed crocheting, baking, tending to her flower gardens and being surrounded by many of God's gifts. Erma is survived by her brother James Norton of Smithboro, NY; her sisters-in-law: Debbie Norton of Owego; Vicki Norton of Barton; many nieces, nephews and their families also survive. She was predeceased by her parents; brothers Larry, Ken, Richard (Liz) and Gordon (Lois). Abiding with Erma's wishes, she will be laid to rest in the Barton Cemetery. A memorial service and celebration of her life will be held at a later date at the Nichols Baptist Church.
