Ernest B. Lunn, 73, of Athens, Pa and formerly of Waverly, NY went to be home with the Lord on Sunday, February 13, 2011 at the Robert Packer Hospital, Sayre. Ernest was born on April 9, 1937 in Binghamton, NY a son of the late Earl and Helene (Keech) Lunn. For many years, he was employed at the Ingersoll Rand in Athens and later at IBM in Owego. Ernest was well known in the valley and was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose. He loved to purchase and work on cars and trucks until his health failed. He also loved to do crafts, fish but most of all he loved his children and grandchildren. Ernest is survived by his wife of 44 years Leona (Talada) Lunn; six daughters Maggie & Andy Kraft of Sayre, Pa; Robin & Roy VanAtta of Elmira, NY; Tammy & Tom Murray of Waverly, NY; Virginia "GG" Olsen of Florida; Tina Westbrook & Joe Sandroni of Waverly, NY; Michelle Morgan of Athens, Pa; three sons Dennis Brown of Elmira, NY; Robert Lunn of Florida and Earl Lunn of Athens, PA; He had 19 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren; he loved the boys~Craig, Dillon, Coty, Cameron, Devin, Dalton, Paul, Stuart and Andrew. He wanted to see them all make it to the top and never give up!! He wanted his girls~ Angela, Brandi, Jessica and Veneasa to always shine!! He is also survived by his first wife Ruth Bidwell of Florida; a special friend Edith Smith; brother David (Diane) Lunn of Owego; sister Cindy (Steve) Zembery of Apalachin; sister-n-law Lorraine Lunn of Vestal; several aunts among them Dorothy Keech; uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Ernest was predeceased by his father Earl in 1955; mother Helene in 2002; brother Butch 2004 and grandson Mathew in 2008. Funeral services for Ernest will be held on Friday, February 18th at 11 am at the Sutfin Funeral Chapel, 273 S. Main St., Nichols. A period of visitation and time of sharing memories will be held on Friday from 10 am until the time of the service. Interment will follow in the Riverside Cemetery, Endicott.
