Ethel M. Waterman

Ethel M. Waterman, 92, of Nichols passed away peacefully on Friday, November 13, 2009 following a period of declining health. Ethel was born on February 12, 1917 in Sayre, Pa a daughter of the late William and Mabel (Ammerman) Patton. She was a member of the Nichols Presbyterian Church, OES Chapter 175, Nichols American Legion Auxiliary and the Nichols Senior Citizens. Ethel treasured her family and for several years was employed at the Nichols Elementary school cafeteria. Ethel is survived by her daughter Dawn Russell; daughter and son-in-law Beverly and John Millage; son and daughter-in-law: William and Linda Waterman; son-in-law: Gary Taylor; a brother Walter (Joyce) Patton; sister Darlene (Joseph) Conrad; brother-in-law: Thomas Place; eight grandchildren, twenty-nine great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and their families also survive. Ethel was predeceased by her husband Henry E. Waterman, daughter Marsha Taylor, granddaughter Michelle Harris, great granddaughter Alexandra Dawn Taylor; son-in-law William Russell; brother William Patton, sister Jean Place. We would like to send a special thank you to the staff at Memorial Hospital for all the love and care shown to Mom while she resided there. Their kindness will never be forgotten. Funeral services and a celebration of a life well lived will be held on Thursday, November 19th at 11am at the Sutfin Funeral Chapel, 273 S. Main St., Nichols with Pastor Clifford Proper, officiating. Interment will follow in the Nichols Cemetery. A period of visitation and time of sharing memories will be held on Wednesday, November 18th from 6 to 9 pm at the funeral chapel.
