Ethel Marie Stokes

Ethel Marie Stokes, 70, of (Windham Twp.,) Rome, Pa passed away on Thursday morning, July 27, 2017 at her home. Ethel was born on January 7, 1947 in Towanda, Pa a daughter of the late William Lane and Margaret (Hammond) Lane Barnhart; and step daughter of the late John E. Barnhart. Ethel was a graduate of the Towanda High School class of 1965. Many will remember Ethel as she served the valley as a taxi car driver and a bar tender. Ethel enjoyed bowling and served as President of the Woman's Bowling Association at the Valley Bowling Center. In addition she also was a member of the Sayre American Legion and Sayre VFW. Abiding with Ethel's wishes there will be no services. Ethel will be laid to rest in the Wysox Cemetery next to her late husband Ronald "Fox" Tevelin.
