Surrounded by her family and those she so dearly loved, Eulalie M. Hurley, 83, of North Orwell, Pa passed away on Thursday morning at her home, November 21, 2013. Eulalie was born on August 17, 1930 in Towanda, PA one of nine children of Alice and Clarence Brown and John and Caroline Carr. She was a graduate of the LeRaysville High School class of 1949. On June 28, 1952, she married Robert Hurley and together they shared 50 years of marriage until his passing on October 27, 2002. She was a retired employee of GTE Sylvania. Eulalie was a member of the North Orwell Union Church where she served as a Sunday School teacher for many years. Devoted and dedicated to her North Orwell Community, she was an active member of the North Orwell Ladies Auxiliary. Eulalie enjoyed playing the piano, spending time in her garden although her greatest pleasure was being surrounded by her family. Eulalie will be greatly missed by her children Gary and his wife Nicole Hurley of Rome, Pa; Blayne and his wife Nancy Hurley of Owego, NY; Connie and her husband Greg Conner of Rome, Pa; Shannon Hurley and Kevin Kriner of Towanda; Her special friend Joe Soper of Painted Post, NY; her grandchildren Jennifer Devine, Aubrey (Duane) Carrington, Heather Allis, Brandon (Hannah) Allis; Brittany Koss; and McKenna Hurley; her great grandchildren: Macie Devine, Tristan Decker, Zane Carrington, Blaise Devine, Delaney Carrington and Carter Allis. Her brothers and sisters-in-law Elwood and Janet Carr; Vernon and Pat Carr both of Rome, Pa; Romeyn and Alice Carr of Montrose, Pa; her sister Donna Benjamin of Elmira, NY; sister-in-law: Betty Carr of LeRaysville, PA. Several nieces, nephews and their families also survive. Eulalie was predeceased by her husband Robert Hurley in 2002; a infant daughter Janet Hurley in September 1961; siblings: Llewellyn (Bernice) Brown, Carl Brown, Doris (Ellis) Coolbaugh, Gerald Carr. Family and friends are invited to attend a period of visitation and time of sharing memories on Saturday, November 23, 2013 from 11-1 pm at the Sutfin Funeral Chapel, 273 S. Main St., Nichols. Funeral services and a celebration of her life will follow at 1 pm. Interment and prayers of committal will be in the North Orwell Cemetery.
