Yeagle, 84 No farewell words were spoken, no time to say goodbye, you were gone before we knew it, and only God knows why……Eva E. Yeagle, 84, of Rome, Pennsylvania passed away peacefully in her sleep Sunday morning, September 18, 2011. Eva was born on October 3, 1926 in Muncy, Pa a daughter of the late Jacob and Ethel (Meckes) Yeagle. She was a graduate of Rome High School and later attended business school at Wyoming Seminary. Eva was a life long and dedicated member of the North Orwell Union Church where she served on various committees and the Administrative Council. For nearly thirty years Eva was employed by the Northeast Bradford School District as the school board secretary and later as the business manager. Living life to the fullest by reaching out and caring for her family, friends and community was her greatest joy. Eva was a volunteer and supporter of various organizations including the Northeast Bradford Student Loan Fund, Grace Connection, and the Abuse and Rape Crisis Center. When she was able, she assisted each month with the North Orwell recycling program. She loved to do landscaping, gardening, and home decorating as evidenced by her lovely home. An avid sports enthusiast, Eva was a fan of all woman's sports but especially loved her favorite NBA team, the Chicago Bulls~especially when Michael Jordan played. Eva is survived by her four sons: Dennis and Christine Chaffee of Rome, Pa; Barry and Carol Chaffee of Rome, Pa; Alan and Janet Chaffee of Nantucket, Ma; and Thomas Chaffee of Wellsboro, Pa; a brother and sister-in-law: Bruce and Lois Yeagle of Windham, Pa; sister and brother-in-law: Shirley and Michael Kelly of Swiftwater, PA; twelve grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and their families also survive. Eva was predeceased by her parents Jacob and Ethel Yeagle and a brother Ronald Yeagle. Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service on Thursday, September 22, 2011 at 2 pm the North Orwell Union Church, Route 187, Rome, PA. A period of visitation and time of sharing will be held at the church from noon until the time of the service at 2pm.
