Florence H. Rhodes

Florence H. Rhodes, 91, of Barton, NY went to her heavenly home and to be reunited with her husband Kenneth on Monday, December 10th, 2012. Florence was born on June 1, 1921 in the Bronx. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Florence had a caring heart and a wonderful sense of humor. She loved to sing and composed family songs which were sung on birthday celebrations. In addition, she was an avid collector of porcelain dolls and carousels horses. She will be greatly missed by her family. Florence is survived by her children: Kenneth Rhodes, Jr. and companion Cynthia Harkness; Patricia A. Rhodes and companion Jean Chang; Dennis K. Rhodes; Steven and Lori Rhodes; her special grandchildren: Jeanine Russo, Elaine Cisneros, James Rhodes, Lauri Gardner, Katherine Rhodes(Justin Levandowski); Steven Bikowicz, Melissa Bikowicz, Steven Rhodes, Jr., James Kelly, Jeanine (Jason) Andrews. Great grandchildren: Joshua, Jaiden, Jessica, Serenity, Justin, Ava Rae, Emily, Nathan and was anxiously awaiting the arrival of two great grandsons. A special family friend Elaine Lansiki, and longtime friend and first boyfriend Robert Shattuck, former daughter-in-law Joanne Young. She was predeceased by her siblings: Jim, Buster, John, Lillian and Alice, a great aunt and great uncle Ethel and Charlie. Family and friends are invited to attend a period of visitation and time of sharing memories on Thursday, December 13th from 1 to 2 pm at the Sutfin Funeral Chapel, 273 S. Main St., Nichols. A memorial service will follow at 2 pm with Father Andrew Hvozdovic, officiating. Interment will be at the convenience of the family at the Pine Lawn National Cemetery, Long Island.
