Francis G. Fulbrook, 87 of N. Wilbur Ave., Sayre, Pa and formerly of Nichols passed away at his home with his family at his side Tuesday morning, August 16, 2011. Affectionately known as "Frank" by his family and friends, he was born on July 11, 1924 in Bronx, NY a son of the late William E. and Florence (Swager) Fulbrook. He was a graduate of the Glassboro High School in Glassboro, NJ. Following graduation he served his country proudly with the United States Army during World War II and was one of the first men landing on Omaha Beach. Frank was a member of the Nichols American Legion and the Skiff-Bower VFW Post #1536. As an active member of the Nichols community Frank was involved with the Friends of the Cady Library and was member of the former Nichols Ro-ki club where he served as president. Many will remember seeing Frank at the Western Auto he owned and operated for twenty years in Nichols. Following his retirement, Frank looked forward to fellowship with the Romeo Club ~ "Retired Old Men Eating Out" Frank is survived by his wife of 55 years, Charlotte (Slim) Bussard Fulbrook; his children: Frank J. Fulbrook of Camden, New Jersey; James E. (Debbie) Fulbrook of Fairfax, VA; William Donald (Nea) Fulbrook of Havelock, NC; Geraldine Fulbrook-Hanna of Acton, Mass; Kathryn (Arnold) Berger of Litchfield, Pa; Walter (Anna) Bussard of Barton, NY; Jesse Ray (Anne) Bussard of Horseheads, NY; eighteen grandchildren, sixteen (and counting) great grandchildren; his sister Barbara Prus of Milford, Delaware; several nieces, nephews and their families also survive. Frank was predeceased by his brother William and a sister Elsie. Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service and celebration of his life on Saturday, September 3, 2011 at 1pm at the Sutfin Funeral Chapel, 273 S. Main St., Nichols with Pastor Dan Martin, officiating. Interment with full military honors will follow in the Nichols Cemetery. A period of visitation will be held on Saturday, September 3rd from 11 to 1pm.
