When someone you love becomes a memory….the memory becomes a treasure… Our loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, great grandfather Francis Ralph Casselberry, 85 of LeRaysville, Pa passed away on Monday, May 4, 2009 following a courageous battle with cancer. Ralph, as he was affectionately known by his family and friends was born on April 9, 1924 in South Hill, Pa a son of Basil and Clara (Montgomery) Casselberry. He attended school until the 10 th grade and at the age of 17 left school to enter the US Marines. He proudly served our country, from 1941 until 1945. On January 5, 1946 he married the love of his life, Winola Hunt and together they celebrated 63 years of happiness. Ralph was a former employee of American-LaFrance in Elmira; served as Orwell Township Supervisor and Constable and was also a retired employee of Masonite. He enjoyed gardening, hunting, visiting with friends, family, and neighbors. Ralph was a member of the United Church of Christ-Potterville and a lifetime member of the Northeast Bradford Memorial VFW Post # 6824. Ralph was a wonderful man who will be greatly missed by all. Ralph is survived by his wife Winola at home; his daughters and sons-in-law: Patricia and Ray Smith of Erin, NY; Joyce and Stephen Shafer of Meshoppen, Pa; Connie and Mitchell Dingus of New Concord, Ohio; Betty and William Veasey of Egg Harbor Township, NJ; Diane and Clifton Burlew of Lowman, NY; a son and his fiance Kevin Casselberry and Debbie Hood of Binghamton, NY; a sister and brother in law: Donna and Robert Moshier of Pine City, NY; a sister-in-law and brother in law: Pearl and Ed Marshall: nine grandchildren: Daryl Smith, Stephen and Eric Shafer, Michelle Sanders, Travis Dingus, Tracy McComis and Brian Hill; Joseph and Cassandra Veasey. Nine great grandchildren and two step great grandchildren, four nephews and a niece also survive. Ralph was predeceased by his parents Basil and Clara Casselberry, brother Richard (Doris) Casselberry; a son-in-law: Harold Hill; sister Betty Casselberry; brother Leland Casselberry, Basil Casselberry, Jr., step sisters Dorothy Bourne, Marjorie Slavick and Mildred Lorence; step brothers Carl and Elwood Foote. Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service and celebration of Ralph's life on Thursday , May 7, 2009 at 1:00PM at the United Church of Christ~Potterville where military honors will be accorded following the services.
