A mother holds her children’s hands for a little while and their hearts forever…. Surrounded by her family and those that meant the world to her, Geneva G. Harris, 71, of Nichols passed away peacefully at her home. Geneva was born on October 31, 1951 in Williamsport, Pa a daughter of the late Richard and Geneva (Whittling ) Braunbeck. She was a graduate of Tioga Central High School and attended Tompkins Cortland Community College. Geneva had many hats, many will remember her for she was employed at the Riverview Manor Nursing Home, Lounsberry Truck Stop but most will remember her for the love she shared as she opened her home and heart as a daycare provider. Geneva treasured the time spent with family. She enjoyed crocheting and tenderly loved to crochet blankets, hats and mittens for those in need. She was a member and attended the Owego Baptist Church.
Geneva will be greatly missed by her children: Geneva Verno (Jim Mancini); Stacy Nixon (William Taylor), Charles (Jordan) Sheldon; Peggy Sheldon; her step children: Sharon Harris, Stacy (Chris) Fox, Scott (Molli) Harris; her siblings: Joan Parker, Ann Moon, Shirley Green, George Braunbeck; seventeen grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Geneva was welcomed into heaven by her parents, her husband Stanley W. Harris who passed on December 16, 2021; her siblings: Margaret “Peg” Westbrook, Richard Braunbeck.
Family and friends are invited to attend a period of visitation on Tuesday, November 15th from 11 – 1 pm at the Sutfin Funeral Chapel, 273 S. Main St., Nichols.
