Genevieve S. Kitchen

Mothers plant the seeds of love that bloom forever….our loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister Genevieve S. Kitchen, 75, of Windham Twp., (RD2 Rome, Pa) passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 2, 2007 at the Skilled Nursing Unit of the Towanda Memorial Hospital. Genevieve was born on May 3, 1932 a daughter of the late Arthur J. and Sarah (Howey) Slater. She was a devoted mother and grandmother who treasured the time spent with her family. Genevieve enjoyed traveling and especially playing BINGO. She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law: Bailey and Judy Hitchcock of Athens, Pa; Roger Hitchcock and fianc Kathy Bevecqua of Rome, Pa; Robert and Doris Kitchen of Rome, Pa; her brother and sister-in-law Clifford and Edna Slater of Mansfield, Pa; sisters-in-law: Kathryn Slater of Owego, NY; and Linda Slater of Nichols, NY; her special grandchildren: Travis Kitchen, Serena Hitchcock-Pannett and her husband Mark Pannett, Teri Kitchen, Roger Hitchcock, Jr., Tracy and his wife Laurie Kitchen, John Kitchen, Robert Lee Kitchen and fianc Harley Shores; Randy Horton, Nicole Robinson and fianc Dave Rafferty; great grandchildren: Mark Pannett, Jr., Chaylee Kitchen, James Pannett, Sabrina Robinson, Tyler James Shaffer, and Ryker Walker. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Genevieve was predeceased by her son Alfred Kitchen, Jr and his wife Teresa Kitchen; daughter-in-law Karen Hitchcock; and brothers Richard Slater and Gordon Slater. A time of remembering the special gift Genevieve was to all of us will be held on Wednesday, September 5th at 1 pm at the Sutfin Funeral Chapel, 273 South Main St., Nichols. A period of visitation and sharing memories will be held on Wednesday from 11 am until the time of the service.
