Geraldine "Gerry" Mae Rought

Geraldine Mae (Bowman) Rought, 77, of West River Road, Nichols passed away on Monday evening, August 17, 2009 at the Robert Packer Hospital following a period of declining health. A life long resident of Nichols, Gerry was born on September 12, 1931 a daughter of Floyd and Charlotte A. (Reynolds) Bowman. Gerry treasured the time spent with her family, enjoyed sewing, reading and visiting with friends and neighbors. Gerry is survived by her children: Cynthia H. Hitchcock, William W. Rought, Jr., Nels E. Rought and Martin L. Rought; her grandchildren: Scott and Katie Perkins, William Rought III, Clifford and Katrina Rought, Mindy and Josh Stocker, Michael Rought, four great grandchildren; four brothers and three sisters; several nieces and nephews also survive. She was predeceased by her husband William W. Rought in 1994 and a son-in-law: Eugene Hitchock. Funeral services and a celebration of Gerry's life will be held on Thursday, August 20, 2009 at 11 am at the Sutfin Funeral Chapel, 273 S. Main St., Nichols with Pastor Dan Martin of the Nichols United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will follow in the Nichols Cemetery. A period of visitation and time for sharing memories will be held on Thursday from 10 am until the time of the service at 11.
