A mother holds her child's hand for a little while and their hearts forever….Our loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother Gladys E. Seeley, 88, of Nichols went home to be with her Lord on Friday evening, December 8, 2017 following a period of declining health. Gladys was born on September 4, 1929 in Berkshire, New York a daughter of the late Harvey and Edith (Ball) Strickland. She was an employee of Endicott Johnson and retired from Robintech-Hadco following 29 years of service. Gladys was a devoted member of the Nichols Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed painting, reading, boating, bowling and traveling. Although her greatest enjoyment was being surrounded by her family. Those left to cherish her memory are her children: Rhonda Seeley of Maryland; Mikolleen Patterson of North Carolina; Saralene (Kevin) Hunt of Florida; Roxanne (Bernard) Dolinich of Pennsylvania; Mikel "Buzz" (Andrea) Seeley of New York; James (Crystal) Seeley of New York; her sister-in-law: Mary Stickland; thirteen grandchildren: Karen (Jeff) Johnson, Lori (Thomas) Shanahan, Brandi Brown, Joe (Lisa) Dolinich, Jon (Ashley) Dolinich, Teri (Craig) Lawrence, Mikey (Sarah) Seeley, Christie (Corey) Dixon, DJ Seeley, Tylor Seeley, Nathan Seeley, Andy Seeley, Daniel Seeley; seventeen great grandchildren, and a great great granddaughter. Many nieces, nephews and their families also survive. Gladys was predeceased by her husband Walter "Mike" Seeley and eleven brothers and sisters. Family and friends are invited to attend a period of visitation on Tuesday, December 12th from 2 - 4 pm at the Nichols Presbyterian Church, 140 South Main St., Nichols. A celebration of her life will follow at 4 pm with her Pastor, Rev. George Budine, officiating. Interment and prayers of committal will be held on Wednesday, December 13th at 1 pm at the Riverside Cemetery, Lounsberry.
