If tears could build a stairway, and memories a lane~we'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again….Our loving Dad and Pop-Pop Graydon R. Martin, Jr., passed away on May 9, 2011 at the Elderwood Health Care Facility following a period of declining health. He is survived by his children: Patricia (Larry) Conover; Donald (Debbie) Martin, Glen (Lynn) Martin, Ronald Martin, Linda (David) Slater. His grandchildren Domonic Conover, Chastity Cinquenti, Stacey Thomas, Chad Martin, Joshua Martin, Keith Martin, Dorothy Sager, Renee Martin, Michelle Martin, Valerie Burch, Melissa Lillie, Ashley Slater, Alison Hallmark. Several great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and their families also survive. He was predeceased by his wife Alice M. Martin; daughters Arlene Freeman and Shirley Hallmark-Fusee'; brothers Frank, Donald and Clayton; sisters Doris Howland, Leona Hauptfleisch and Betty Oksutcik. Graydon was born on September 15, 1927 in Johnson City a son of the late Ruth (Nelson) and Graydon R. Martin, Sr. On May 20, 1949, he married Alice M. Hogg and together they celebrated 51 years of marriage until her passing on Nov. 10, 2000. A well known and respected dairy farmer, Graydon also drove school bus for 12 years for the Owego Apalachin School District. He loved spending time on the farm and treasured the time spent with his family. Until we meet again, may you and mom find comfort in the arms of an angels. Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service on Saturday, May 14 at 1 pm at the Lounsberry United Methodist Church. A gathering luncheon and time of sharing will be held following the services. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family in the Riverside Cemetery, Lounsberry.
