Gregory William Shipman

Gregory William Shipman, known to friends and family as Greg, passed away suddenly due to heart complications on April 13, 2023, at the Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, PA. Greg was born on September 12, 1963, in Waverly, NY, a son of the late Clyde and Ida (Robbins) Shipman. He was a gentle man, often quietly spoken and a friendly soul who touched the lives of many during his 59 years.
Growing up in “Shipman Hollow”, Greg attended school at Tioga Central. In his younger years, he spent many hours assisting his cousin operating the family farm. The values of hard work and dedication instilled in him during these formative years would serve as the foundation for the rest of his life.
Greg’s passion for life was evident in his many interests and hobbies. He enjoyed attending auctions where he could visit with friends and neighbors. Greg took to raising chickens, which showcased his love for animals and nature. A quiet man who appreciated the simple things in life, Greg also found joy in visiting the casino, solitude in hunting, and fishing.
He is survived by his siblings Mark Shipman, Mike (Sue) Shipman, Kevin (Terri) Shipman, Deborah (Terry) Rogers, and several nieces, nephews, cousins including a special nephew and caregiver, Thomas Wheeler. Greg was predeceased by his loving parents, Clyde and Ida (Robbins) Shipman, his sister Lori Shipman, and brother Christopher Shipman.
Family and friends are invited to attend a graveside service on Saturday, April 22nd at 11 am at the Barton Cemetery with Pastor Alan Bill, officiating. Memories and condolences may be shared by visiting his guestbook at www.sutfinfuneralchapel.com
