Harris L. Rogers

Harris L. Rogers, 88, of Pine Valley, passed away on Monday, April 18, 2011 at his home. Harris was born on Mary 23, 1922 in Nichols, NY a son of the late George E. and Junia (Munn) Rogers. He was a graduate of Southside High School class of 1941 and in 1942 entered into the US Navy where he proudly served his country until 1946. Following an honorable discharge, Harris was an Elmira Police Officer and later worked at Ward LaFrance in Elmira Heights. Harris enjoyed reading, especially history books; was a wonderful story teller and artist. He is survived by his sister Frances Wooster, Pine Valley; three nieces, a nephew and one cousin. Harris was predeceased by his parents; sisters Virginia Rogers and Cecil Louise Poley and brother George "Lloyd" Rogers. A private graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family in the Nichols Cemetery.
