Harvey Goodenough, 89, of Owego, passed away with his family at his side on Monday, December 9, 2013 at the Riverview Manor Nursing Home. Harvey was born on May 29, 1924 in Nichols, NY a son of the late Flossie (Walker) and Leon Goodenough. He was a veteran of the US Army and proudly served his country during WWII. Harvey was a machinist for many years for Crown Industries. He was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose, VFW, American Legion ~ where he volunteered many years for the American Legion Ambulance Service and the Mello Dears. He will be greatly missed by his daughter and son-in-law: Connie and Stephen Fedorowicz; daughter-in-law: Eloise Goodenough; grandchildren: Michelle Scott Pierce and her husband Leon; Suzanne Scott Little and Johnathan Sackett; Thomas and Jennifer Scott; Darcie Goodenough and fianc Jeremy Fleming; great grandchildren: MaKenna Pierce, Logan Pierce and his wife Nicole, Sawyer Little, Walker and Isabella Sackett, Wayne and Benjamin Scott. A great great granddaughter Skyla Rose Pierce; brother-in-law Thomas Donaldson; several nieces and his long-time friend Charles Talcott. Harvey was predeceased by his wife of nearly 63 years Mary Jane (Donaldson) Goodenough on April 5, 2009; son Robert Goodenough on September 8, 1986; his siblings: Anna Moore, Gladys Lisenby and Chauncey Goodenough. Family and friends are invited to attend a period of visitation on Saturday, December 14th from 11-1 pm at the Sutfin Funeral Chapel, 273 S. Main St., Nichols. Funeral services will follow at 1pm at the funeral chapel. Interment with full military honors will be accorded in the Nichols Cemetery.
