Helen E. Jatko, 92, of Havana, Fla and formerly of Apalachin, NY went to her heavenly home and to be reunited with her husband Rev. George Jatko on Monday, January 5, 2015. Helen is survived by her son Charles E. Jatko, of Florida; a grandson Chad (Carlene) Jatko of Moody, AL; great grandsons Corbin and Caleb Jatko; brothers and sisters-in-law: Elmer and Harriett Storozow of Vestal; Kenneth and Marion Storozow of Clearwater, Florida; several nieces, nephews, and friends also survive. Helen was predeceased by her husband Rev. George Jatko; sisters Lena Romeo and Marie Stephens. Helen was born on November 26, 1922 in Endicott, NY a daughter of Philip and Edna (Everett) Storozow. She was a graduate of Owego Free Academy and attended Ridley Lowell Business School following graduation. Helen was a legal secretary in the Patents Office of IBM. On May 8, 1943 in Oakland, CA Helen married George and together they shared many wonderful years together until his passing on July 5, 2012. Many will fondly remember Helen and her dedication as a Pastor's wife as George faithfully served the South Warren Community Church and the Neath Welsh Congregational Church. When not sharing their love for the Lord, Helen and George enjoyed spending time camping at Alpine Lake in Stevensville, Pa. They are now together forever and forever in the arms of the angels. Family and friends are invited to attend a period of visitation on Tuesday, January 13th from 6 to 8 pm at the Sutfin Funeral Chapel, 273 S. Main St., Nichols. Funeral services and a celebration of Helen's life will be held on Wednesday, January 14th at 11 am at the funeral chapel with Pastor Larry Pelton, officiating. Interment and prayers of committal will follow in the Vestal Hills Memorial Park.
