Helen S. Burkhardt

Surrounded by her family and those that she loved most, Helen S. Burkhardt, 102, passed away and was reunited with her husband Philip on Monday morning, February 21, 2011. Helen was born on October 14, 1908 in Brooklyn, NY a daughter of the late John and Frances (Rohr) Schineller. She was a former resident of Salt Point, NY for over fifty years and most recently spent the last eleven years residing with her daughter, Terri. She enjoyed reading mystery books, cooking, attending to her garden while living in Millbrook and spending time with her family and friends at the camper. Helen is survived by her daughter Theresa "Terri" Burkhardt; sister Violet Neary Northrop of Mohawk, NY and her family; nieces Linda (Richard) Tompsett and family; Patricia VanHorn and family; her extended family Mary Chalker and family; special friends and neighbors Mr. and Mrs. Charles Pierce and family Salt Point, NY; Frazier Halloway and Gary Hattem. Helen was predeceased by her husband Philip R. Burkhardt; eight brothers and sisters. A memorial service and celebration of a life well lived will be held on Saturday, March 12, 2011 at 11 am at the Nichols United Methodist Church, with Pastor Dan Martin, officiating. A luncheon and time of sharing will follow the service. Spring interment will be in the St. Joseph's Cemetery, Millbrook, NY.
