No farewell words were spoken, no time to say goodbye, you were gone before we knew it, and only God knows why…..our hearts ache in sadness in the sudden passing of our loving husband, father, son, brother, uncle, grandpa and friend, Isaac Franklin Brown, Jr., 55, of Sulpher Springs Road., Owego went to his heavenly home on Sunday, December 12, 2010. Ike as he was affectionately known and remembered by his family and friends, was born on July 9, 1955 in Sayre, Pa a son of Mary (Martz) and the late Isaac Brown. He was a graduate of Northeast Bradford High School class of 1973 and served his country with the US Navy. An avid outdoors enthusiast, Ike enjoyed hunting, camping, racing and treasured mostly the time spent with his family. He retired from Carpenters Local 281 and was currently employed as a welder with F.S. Lopke. Ike is survived by his wife of 24 years Judi (Miller) Brown; daughters: Angie Brown, Stacey Brown; Carrie (Charlie) Fulton, Valerie (Chad) Allis; his special grandchildren: Kayla, Allison, Isaac and Briana; his mother Mary Brown; a sister Becky Dwyer; brother Dan (Eva) Brown; his mother-in-law: Verna Miller; father-in-law Bud (Carol) Miller; special brother-in-law: Bill Miller; sister-in-law Peggy (James) Corder. Several nieces, nephews among them a special niece Heather (George) Johnson. Ike was predeceased by his father Isaac Brown in 1994, sister Debbie Gilliland in 1992; brother-in-law Paul Westbrook in 1976. Until we meet again, may Ike find comfort in the arms of an angel. Funeral services and a celebration of Ike's life will be held on Friday, December 17, 2010 at 1 pm at the Sutfin Funeral Chapel, 273 S. Main St., Nichols with Pastor Loretta Perry, officiating. Interment will follow in the Gibson Corners Cemetery. A period of visitation and time of sharing special memories will be held on Thursday, December 16th from 5-9 pm at the Sutfin Funeral Chapel.
