Jack Dutton

Jack Dutton, 82, of Johnson Road, (Windham Twp) Rome, Pa passed away on Friday, October 21, 2011 at this home that he loved and shared with his niece and nephew, Kelly and Joel Edsell and their children. Jack was born on June 5, 1929 in Nichols, NY a son of the late Nellie (Olmstead) and Earl Dutton. He proudly served his county with the US Air Force and was a life member of the Wright-Edsell American Legion Post in Nichols. Jack was employed by several area foundries and retired from Ajax Foundry in Sayre. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time outdoors. Jack is survived by his sisters: Althea Lewis of Waverly and Jean Henry of Candor, NY; brother and sister-in-law: Jay and Carol Dutton and their children, whom he thought of as his children; niece Kelly (Joel) Edsell and their children: Morgan, Drew and Kamryn; nephews: Barry (Edlyn) Dutton and their children: Charles, Alexander and Sarah (with whom he shared his birthday); and Alan (Rachael) Dutton and their children, Jay II, Constance and Evan; nieces and nephews: Charlene (Larry) Katchuk, Todd (Carla Bendock) Rogers; Terry (Debbie) Rogers; Doug (Diane) Rogers, Bonnie Walker; Ronald Henry; Gary (Carol) Henry; Carol (Michael) O'Toole and Cindy Nye. Jack was predeceased by his parents; brothers Leroy and Frank; sisters Harriet Rogers; Catherine Nye and Connie Dutton; nieces Barbara Lewis; Beverly Bell and Becky Henry. Family and friends are invited to attend a period of visitation and time of remembering Jack on Saturday, October 29th from 1 to 3 pm at the Sutfin Funeral Chapel, 273 S. Main St., Nichols. Military Honors will be accorded at the conclusion of calling hours.
