A heart of gold stopped beating, two willing hands at rest, God broke our hearts to prove to us, He only takes the best.....Jacob L. Feusner, Jr. 87, of Struble Road, Athens went to his heavenly home and to be reunited with his loving wife Clara on Thursday, March 29, 2012. "Jake" as he was affectionately known by his family and friends was born on March 3, 1925 in Lansdale, Pa a son of the late Margaret (Seitz) and Jacob Feusner, Sr. He spent his childhood in Towmencin Twp., Pa and for many years following his schooling was employed at Sommer's Creamery in Colmar, Pa. On September 27, 1947, Jacob married Clara A. Mears and together they celebrated nearly sixty five years of marriage until her recent passing on March 16, 2012. In 1971, Jake and Clara moved to Litchfield where she shared the dream of owning and operating a farm. Dedicated to his farm in Litchfield, Jake received the Diary Distinction Award and the Conservation Award. He was a member of the Pennsylvania Farmers Association; the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Towanda and the Litchfield Ridge Runners. Jake enjoyed hunting, although his greatest pleasure was being out on the tractor and farming. Jake is survived by his daughter and son-in-law: Shirley and Scott Wilson of Chalfont, Pa; son and daughter-in-law: Donald and Donna Feusner of Litchfield; son David Feusner of Litchfield; brothers and sisters-in-law: John and Claudia Feusner; Ernest and Jean Feusner; sisters-in-law: Ann Feusner; Evelyn (Wallace) Hendricks; brother-in-law: Albert Mears; grandchildren: Jessie (Michael) Friedman; Heather (Thomas) Prettyman; Kristy (David) Winnett; Megan (Andrew) Tiffany; Katie (Fred) Tiffany; great grandchildren: Brooke, Jacob, Alexis, and Jacob. Jake was predeceased by his wife, Clara; brother George Feusner; sister Florence (Jim) Mairrano; sisters-in-law: Verna (Joe) Lindner; Louise Mears; brothers-in-law Harold Richard (Doris) Mears; William Mears. Family and friends are invited to attend a period of visitation and time of sharing memories on Saturday, April 7th from 10 am until noon at the Sutfin Funeral Chapel, 273 S. Main St., Nichols. Funeral services and a celebration of a life well lived for Jake will be held at noon with Pastor Jira Albers of the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church and Pastor James D. Donahoo of the Sayre Christian Church, officiating. Interment will follow in the S. Litchfield Cemetery in S. Litchfield, Pa.
