Jacqueline Leach Mayo, affectionately known as Jackie to her friends and family, passed away peacefully on November 19, 2025, at the age of 90 at the Athens Health and Rehab Facility in Athens, PA. Born on August 30, 1935, in Scranton, PA, Jackie's life was a tapestry of love, joy, and community involvement that touched the hearts of many.

Jackie's legacy is carried on by her loving family, including her daughter, Terri Krauss, her son, Scott Leach, and her cherished grandchildren: Cheryl (Phillip), Jennifer, and Dustin. Her great-grandchildren, Kiersten, Alicia, Tyler, Logan, Evan, and Kaylon, will forever hold precious memories of their great-grandmother's kindness and warmth. Jackie also embraced a broader family through her marriage to Earl Mayo, Sr., and is survived by her stepchildren Earl L. (Maureen) Mayo, Jr., James "Doc" (Cindy) Mayo, Terrie (Bruce) Spencer, Steven Mayo, David (Mary) Mayo, and Jody (Christine) Mayo, along with their families. She was predeceased by her first husband, Paul Leach, her second husband, Earl Mayo, Sr., and her son, Guy H. Leach.

Jackie's vibrant personality was evident in everything she did. As a loving wife and mother, she found joy in cake decorating and crafting, filling her home with beauty and creativity. She had a passion for dance, especially the Jitter Bug, and her presence at any gathering guaranteed laughter and smiles. Jackie and her first husband, Paul, were active members of the Nichols Lions Club and the St. Patrick Church community. They also played a significant role in establishing the Nichols Tioga Lioness Club, where Jackie's friendly and kind-hearted nature shone brightly.

In later years, Jackie found love again and married Earl Mayo, Sr. on February 25, 2006. The couple enjoyed 19 wonderful years together, sharing their faith as members of the Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saint in Towanda, PA. They delighted in attending Concerts in the Park and traveling to local nursing homes, where Earl's band would perform country gospel music, and Jackie would share her joy and companionship with the residents.

Jackie's life was one of unwavering love and friendship. She was the life of the party and a friend to all, embodying the well-known quote by Audrey Hepburn, "For beautiful eyes, look for the good in others; for beautiful lips, speak only words of kindness; and for poise, walk with the knowledge that you are never alone." Her spirit of kindness and friendliness will remain a guiding light to all who knew her.
