Goodbyes are not forever, goodbyes are not the end. They simply mean we'll miss you until we meet again… James Elwood Carr, 57, of Rome Township, passed away on Tuesday morning, July 14, 2009 following a period of declining health. Jim, as he was known and will be remembered by his family and friends was born on August 20, 1951 in Meshoppen, Pa a son of Elwood J. and the late Betty Baker Carr. Jim attended the LeRaysville Elementary School and the Northeast Bradford High School and recently enjoyed attending his 40th class reunion. Jim was a member of the Windham Fire Company Dept. 19. For many years he toured the countryside as a truck driver and was employed by Taylor Beef and Kaminski Logging. Jim was a devoted race fan of B.J. Bowen Racing where he had the title as "Supervisor." He loved to watch the Giants, enjoyed NASCAR and had a great love for John Deere tractors. Jim is survived by his father and step-mother Elwood J. and Janet Carr; daughters: Jamie Lyn Carr, Jessica Ann Carr; sisters and brothers-in-law: Barbara and Pastor Jeffrey Kistler, Wendy Ragab, Rosalie and Mark Cook; nieces and nephews: Michael (Heather) Kistler, Matthew (Stephanie) Kistler, Kareem Ragab, Ramy Ragab, Emily (Tad) Soden, Amy Cook, and Stephen Parks; grandson Zachary Aaron Carr and many friends. He was predeceased by his mother Betty Baker Carr in 1988; sister Marilyn Carr Parks in 1979 and a nephew Aaron Scott Cook in 1975. A time of remembering the special gift Jim was to all of us will be held on Thursday evening, July 16th at 7 pm at the Sutfin Funeral Chapel, 273 S. Main St., Nichols with his brother-in-law, Pastor Jeffrey Kistler, officiating. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family in the Bradford County Memorial Park. A period of visitation and time of sharing memories will be held on Thursday from 5 to 7 pm.
