James S. Shaw

James S. Shaw, Jr., 87, of Waite Road, Nichols passed away Tuesday afternoon, February 8, 2011 following a period of declining health. He was born in St. Petersburg, Fl to Annie Swanson and James Shaw. He married the love of his life, Kay F. Netter of NY, NY on October 30, 1984. He leaves behind a host of beloved family and friends including , his wife Kay Shaw, Maurice and Lavata Harvin, Olivia Leach Nunez, Isa Leach, and Olivia Armstrong. He was predeceased by his brother, Joseph Dixson, Uncle Walter and Aunt Lavata Swanson. Jim lived in an era that people cannot be proud of but from which we can learn. He was a simple man with a sophisticated view. He was quiet but knowledgeable, laid back but passionate and intense whenever he spoke of jazz, chess, and his wife. Memorial services to be held on Saturday, February 19 at 2pm at the Sutfin Funeral Chapel, 273 S. Main St., Nichols.
