Jane C. Theurer

Jane Case Theurer, Honesdale, PA native, passed away Sunday, April 29, 2018 at age 87. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and son. She will be missed by her daughter-in-law, siblings, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great grandchildren, and so many other family members and friends. Jane worked as a bookkeeper and co-owner of NAPA Auto Parts of Owego, NY and Wysox, PA up until 1989. She loved traveling by air and sea. She and her husband had their pilot's license for their single engine aircraft. She cruised by sea in and around areas like the Caribbean, the Mediterranean sea, New England, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. Jane liked to read, play Bridge competitively with others, and deal hand after hand of Solitaire when she was at home. She was a survivor of both breast and lung cancer, walked 2 miles a day for years, and participated in a Tai Chi group regularly when she was able. She definitely was an advocate for sharpening the mind and taking care of the body. Jane was a classy lady who appreciated the finer things in life, loved her family and friends in her own special way, and leaves a legacy marked by ambition and strong work ethic. A private interment will be held at a later date where her ashes will be placed next to those of her late husband, John Brooks Theurer.
