Janette D. Painter

Softly in the morning you heard a gentle call, you took the hand God offered you and quietly left us all….Janette D. Painter, 62, of Towanda, PA passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Monday, August 14, 2017. Janette was born on March 11, 1955 in South Towanda, PA a daughter of the late Donald and Andrea (Carr) Painter. She was a graduate of Northeast Bradford High School class of 1973 and continued her education at Williamsport Community College where she received her LPN. Devoted and dedicated to serving others, Jan was employed at the Towanda Memorial Hospital. She enjoyed knitting, playing the piano, watching the Little League World Series and could often find many bargains while internet shopping. Jan will be greatly missed by her brother and sister-in-law: Ronald and Linda Painter of Towanda; her sister and brother-in-law: Sara and Walt Romanik of Wysox; brother-in-law: Bob and Sally Wargo of Warren Center; her nieces and nephews: Tom (Marie) Painter, Darrin (Dawn) Steele, Darcy (Joe) Vrabel, Adam Romanik, Chris (Maria) Painter, Amanda (Kurt) Goglin, Abram (Krista) Romanik, Anabel (Matt) Rockefeller; great nieces and nephews: Justin, Logan, Raigan, Kayla, Nick, Elijah, Michelle, Donald, Michael, Ezekiel, Carson, Megan, Chase, and Colton; her aunts: Mary Jane Painter Cease; Gertrude Painter Byers, Leota Carr Styles, Betty Carr; many cousins and numerous friends also survive. Jan was welcomed into heaven by her parents Donald and Andrea Painter, her sister Brenda Wargo; maternal grandparents Louis and Delphine Arnold; paternal grandparents Thomas and Gertrude Painter. Family and friends are invited to attend a period of visitation on Wednesday, August 16th from 1 - 3 and 6 - 8 pm at the Sutfin Funeral Chapel, 273 South Main St., Nichols. A funeral service and celebration of her life will be held on Thursday, August 17th at 11 am at the funeral chapel with Pastor Larry D. Jennings, officiating. Interment will following in the South Warren Cemetery.
