No farewell words were spoken, no time to say goodbye, you were gone before we knew it and only God knows why… Jason Paul Wheeler, 37, of Smithboro passed away suddenly on Thursday, December 28, 2017 as a result of an opioid overdose. Jason was born on August 17, 1980 in Troy, NY a son of Ralph A. and Catherine Anne (Vautrin) Wheeler. He was a graduate of Tioga Central High School. Jason will be remembered as being mechanically talented and had a keen eye to repair anything with a motor. Living a fast pace life, Jason also enjoyed cars, motorcycles and listening to loud music. Jason will be greatly missed by his father Ralph A. Wheeler of Smithboro; his mother Catherine Wheeler of Vermontville, NY; his daughter Harper; sister and brother-in-law Diane and Ron Fountain of Waterford, NY; brother Kyle Wheeler and fiance' Chelsea Robertson of Tioga Center; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Jason was predeceased by his paternal grandparents: Ralph and Sarah Wheeler of Newark Valley; maternal grandparents William and Laurette Vautrin of Waterford, NY. Abiding with the families wishes, services will be private and held at the Sutfin Funeral Chapel, 273 S. Main St., Nichols.
