Jean (Ryan) Brown, 81, of Windham, Pa passed away with her family at her side on Wednesday evening, February 22, 2023 at the Robert Packer Hospital. Jean was born on January 29, 1942 in Sayre, PA a daughter of the late Alson Ryan and Evelyn L. Huddle. Jean was a graduate of Northeast Bradford High School class of 1959 and always looked forward to assisting with her class reunions. On January 7, 1967 she married Donald G. Brown and together they shared 56 years of marriage. For over 40 years, she employed as an Inspector – Specialist Technician for IBM – Owego, where she was also member of the Quarter of Century Club. Jean and Don treasured the time spent with family and could always be found attending their grandchildren and great grandchildren’s sporting events. Jean and Don also enjoyed traveling the country roads during the fall months enjoying splendid of mother nature. Her heart was always so full when visits from her seven great grandchildren would visit ~ and was anxiously awaiting the arrival of the 8th!
Jean will be greatly missed by her husband Don; her daughter Denise Brown; daughter in law Cheri Brown; brother and sister-in-law: Bill and Mary Ryan; her grandchildren: Darcie Olmstead and Dalton Johnson; Dylan Olmstead and Fleisha Halblieb; Mark A. Brown, Jr., Christopher and Naomi Brown; her great grandchildren: Kaiden, Elayna, Brage, Amelia Jean, Angel, Ophelia and Brouki. Sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Dixie (Jim) Russell, George (Tim) Brown, Joan (Les) Evans, Anita (Gene) Salsman, Gail (Dave) King, Sharon Brown, Ronnie (Doris) Brown, Bobby (Sue) Brown; several nieces, nephews and their families also survive. Special friends Donna Prentice, Ted Hardenstine, Cindy Zembery and Lillian Thompson. Jean was welcomed into heaven by her sons: James Brown and Mark A. Brown, Jr., her siblings: Thomas Ryan, Al Ryan, Judy Ball, Debbie Ryan; her brother-in-law Dale Brown and sister-in-law: Bonnie Truesdail.
Family and friends are invited to attend a period of visitation on Sunday, February 26th from 11 - 1 pm at the Sutfin Funeral Chapel, 273 S. Main St., Nichols. A funeral service and celebration of her life will follow at 1 pm. Jean will be laid to rest in the Valley Home Cemetery, Windham.
