Jeanne E. Hess

Jeanne E. Hess, 86, of Smith Creek Rd., and formerly of Sparkill, NY, passed away peacefully at Robert Packer Hospital on Sunday, December 28th, 2014 following a short illness. Jeanne was born on August 2, 1928 in Nyack, New York a daughter of the late Charles Ernest and Josephine (Fowler) Post. She was formerly a secretary at Tappan Zee High School. Following retirement she settled down to a life filled with knitting, crocheting and watching golf. Jeanne is survived by her children Betty (Ron) Raab of Nichols; Karen Mueller of Sandy, Utah; John (Laurie) Hess of Apalachin, NY; Jayne Eckholdt of Draper, Utah; sisters-in- law Angie Hess and Adelle Giannotti; sixteen grandchildren Erica and Emily Raab; Carolyn (Eric) Wang; Richard Mueller; Andy (Brooke) Mueller; Chris (Kristine) Hess; Tyler (Mckenzie) Hess; Mindy (Curtis) Hebdon; Nicole (Juston) Riley; Andrea Hess; Kim (Nate) Reynolds; Paige (Gabe) Zullo; Rachel (Cam) McClellan; Whitney Eckholdt; Dayna (Trevor) Atwood and Drake (Tiffany) Eckholdt; seventeen great grandchildren, nine nieces and nephews also survive. Jeanne was predeceased by her parents, husband Frank Hess and brother, John Post. Funeral services for Jeanne will be held on Saturday, January 3rd at 2 pm at the Sutfin Funeral Chapel, 273 South Main St., Nichols. Interment and prayers of committal will follow in the West Newark Cemetery. The family will receive their friends on Friday, January 2nd from 6-8 pm at the funeral chapel.
