Jerry R. Freeman

Jerry R. Freeman, 77, of Pike Township (Route 467), LeRaysville, Pa passed away on Friday evening, September 9, 2011 at the Robert Packer Hospital following a period of declining health. Jerry was born on June 7, 1934 in Luzerne, County, Pa a son of the late Wilford and Alice (Kocher) Freeman. On August 20, 1955 he married Arlene Wolfe and together they have shared fifty-six wonderful years. Jerry was a long time employee of DuPont and retired following seventeen years of service. Prior to his work at DuPont, Jerry worked at Canada Dry Bottling Company and on the Jasper Hutchinson Farm in LeRaysville. Jerry enjoyed being surrounded by mother nature, whether it be working in his garden, mowing his lawn or taking a walk. He treasured the time spent with his family and always enjoyed visiting with others. Jerry is survived by his loving and devoted wife Arlene Freeman; his daughters and son-in-law: Donna and William "Bill" McMurdy; Nancy Spooner all of Ocala, Florida. His brother and sister-in-law: Freas and Bernice Freeman of Chemung; sister-in-law: Wilma Freeman of Sayre, Pa; grandchildren: Melinda (Robert) Gilmore; Daniel Brown, Andrew Mitchell; Matthew Mitchell; Phillip Mitchell; Cara Mitchell; four great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and their families also survive. Jerry was predeceased by his parents Wilford and Alice Freeman; siblings: Thomas Freeman, Ernest Freeman, Wilford (Sarah Jane) Freeman; Joan (Donald) Hunsinger. Family and friends are invited to attend a period of visitation and time of sharing memories on Monday, September 12, 2011 from 11 to 1 pm at the South Warren Community Church.
