James K. Schroer, fondly known as Jim, passed away peacefully on November 7, 2023, in Warren Center, PA, at the age of 77. Born on January 6, 1946, in Norwich, NY, Jim was a kind, handy, and spirited individual whose positive attitude and zest for life touched everyone he met.


Jim was a proud graduate of Sherburn Central High School. His education set a solid foundation for his successful career as a sales representative in Heavy Equipment for Tracy Road Equipment. Jim was a man of faith, being a founding member of the Hope Community Church in Warren Center. His faith was an integral part of his life, and it guided him in his everyday actions. His church community will remember him for his unwavering faith, his willingness to help others, and his infectious spirit.


Outside of work and church, Jim had a fondness for the outdoors and leisure activities. He enjoyed golfing, fishing and boating which allowed him to appreciate nature's beauty and tranquility. He also loved completing puzzles, a hobby that reflected his patience, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.


He is survived by his sons Christopher Schroer, Scott Schroer, Brian Schroer, and Tom (Jennifer) Schroer, along with his grandchildren Magnolia, Dylan, Aiden, Ethan, and Elliot. He also leaves behind the mother of his children, Linda Schroer, his siblings Jacqueline, Debra, Sharon, Claude and Merry, and many nieces, nephews, and their families. Jim is also survived by his friends Andy and Sally Dewing, who provided him with comfort, care, and companionship in his later years. Their family became an extension of his own, and he was deeply grateful for their support and kindness.

He was predeceased by his parents and his siblings: Donna, Marilyn, Jay, Richard and a daughter-in-law Tara.


Friends are invited to attend a memorial service on Friday, November 17th at 6:30 pm at the Hope Community Church, 5864 Jackson Valley Rd, Warren Center, PA 18851.
