Joan S. Wilson, 62, of Lakeland, Florida and formerly of Warren Center, Pa, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on July 13, 2009 due to heart failure. Joan was born on June 25, 1947 in Pittston, Pa a daughter of the late Donald and Mabel (Quinn) Spiegel. A devoted wife, mother, sister and grandmother, Joan treasured the time spent with her family. In addition she enjoyed shopping, making jewelry and was an avid basket collector. Joan was a member of the LeRaysville Order of Eastern Star #498 and served as Worthy Matron from 1988-1989. Since 1991, Joan and Roger had resided in Lakeland, Florida where she worked for Manheim Auto Auctions for the past 16 years. Joan is survived by her husband Roger E. Wilson of Lakeland, Fla; her sons: Randy (Ashlee) Hunt of Sayre, Pa; Jefferson (Jennifer) Hunt of Nichols, NY; daughters: Shelley (Larry) McCreary of Lakeland, Fla.; Diana Novicky (Shane White) of Rome, Pa; Lindy Wilson (Roger Freeze) of Lakeland, Fla; sisters Donna Spiegel (Gleason Moore) of West Palm Beach, Fla; Jean Hawkins of Lakeland, Fla; her mother-in-law Ontalee Wilson; brother-in-law and sister-in-law: Gordon and Mable Wilson; eleven grandchildren. Funeral services and a celebration of Joan's life will be held on Saturday, July 18th, 2009 at 11 am at the Sutfin Funeral Chapel, 273 S. Main St., Nichols with Pastor Larry D. Jennings of the Warren Center Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will follow in the Darling Cemetery. A period of visitation and time of sharing memories will be held on Friday, July 17th from 2-4 and 7-9 at the funeral chapel. Order of Eastern Star Services will be conducted by the LeRaysville Chapter #498 on Friday evening at 7pm.
