John "Jack" H. Shay

John "Jack" Shay, 82, of West River Rd., Nichols went to his heavenly home and was reunited with his wife Madaline on Friday, June 13, 2014. Jack was born on November 13, 1931 in Towanda, Pa a son of the late Paul and Jeanne (Hogan) Shay. He was a graduate Towanda High School and proudly served his country with the US Navy. Jack was a retired employee of IBM Owego. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and spending time outdoors ~ although his greatest pleasure was being with is family. Jack was predeceased by his wife Madaline on March 19, 2014 and will be greatly missed by his children, his daughters and sons-in-law: Debbie and Larry Sterling; Cindy and Ron Keppler; his sons and daughters-in-law: Bill and Sandy Shay; Jim and Patti Shay; his sister and brother-in-law Nancy and Bill Hay; nine grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and their families also survive. Family and friends are invited to attend a period of visitation on Tuesday, June 17th from 10 to 11 am at the Sutfin Funeral Chapel, 273 S. Main St., Nichols. Funeral services and a celebration of Jack's life will follow at 11 am with Pastor Ron Park, officiating. Interment and prayers of committal will be in the Nichols Cemetery.
