Joseph D. Kinney, Sr.

Joseph D. Kinney, Sr., 58, of Owego, passed away suddenly on May 10, 2011 at Wilson Hospital, Johnson City. Joe is survived by his son and daughter-in-law: Joseph D. (Brandi) Kinney, Jr. of Rochester, NY; daughter and son-in-law: Heather (Anthony) Kinney-Kurdziel of Buffalo; his longtime friend and companion Kathleen Harding; his siblings: Michael (Patricia) Kinney; Bonnie (Robert) Kinney-Card; Charles T. Jr. (Susan) Kinney; George B. Basos; Kathy L. (James) Basos-Hamlin; Shawn L. (Michael) Basos-Bostwick; several nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends also survive. He was predeceased by his parents Doris (Reid) and Charles T. Kinney, Sr. Joe was veteran of the US Army and proudly served his country from 1973-1976. He was a member of the Owego Vietnam Veterans Chapter 480. Joe enjoyed fishing, treasure hunting and was a published writer. Joe was employed as a Senior Manufacturing Engineer for Lockheed Martin in Owego for nearly 29 years. Calling hours for Joe will be held on Saturday, May 14th at 10 am at the Sutfin Funeral Chapel, 273 South Main St., Nichols, to be immediately followed by a memorial service at 11 am.
