Juanita M. Allis

Softly in the morning, you heard a gentle call, you took the hand God offered you and quietly left us all…..Juanita M. Allis, 88, of Nichols passed away on Thursday April 19, 2018, her 72nd wedding anniversary. Juanita was born on May 4, 1929, in Sayre, PA a daughter of the late Grover and Ora (Marsh) Rogers. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend Juanita treasure the time spent with her family. For many years, she assisted her husband with their family dairy farm. Juanita loved crocheting, square dancing, and playing cards. Juanita is survived by her loving husband Harold Allis; her sons Fred Allis of Nichols, NY; Dean (Kelli) Allis of Vestal, NY; and Brian (Kathy) Allis of Ithaca, NY; several grandchildren, among them Kyle and Chelci Allis; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Juanita was predeceased by her son Roger; daughter-in-law Carol Allis; and siblings Irene (Merle) Stout, Art Rogers, Leona (Al) Bennett, Florence (Percy) Pipher, Lester (Dolly) Rogers, Roberta (Raymond) Platt, Avis (Chuck) Gorsline, and Mary (Jim) Strauf. Family and friends are invited to attend a period of visitation on Monday, April 23rd from 10 to noon at the Sutfin Funeral Chapel, 273 S. Main St., Nichols. A celebration of Juanita's life will follow at noon with Pastor Mary Jane Simonin and Steven Lawrence, officiating.
