Julia "Jul" Marie Roy

Those we love don't go away, they walk beside us every day. Unseen, unheard, but always near, so loved, so missed so very dear….Our loving Julia Marie Roy, 50, of Rome, Pa passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on Sunday, September 9, 2007. Jul, as she was affectionately known by her family and friends was bon on January 6, 1957 in Elmira, NY a daughter of Margene M. Murphy and the late Earl Barber. She attended Elmira Christian School where she participated in cheerleading and tennis and graduated from the school in 1976. Jul was employed as a secretary in the Neurology Department at the Guthrie Clinic. Devoted to her family she always looked forward to family gatherings, where she shared her love for cooking. Jul treasured her children and grandchildren, enjoyed gardening and was a collector of Boyd's Bears. Her strong faith, love towards others and the friendship she shared with all of us will always remain in our hearts. In addition to her mother Margene M. Murphy of Rome, Pa, she is survived by her daughter Kimberlee Mcbeth and her husband Bobby Stumph of Sayre; her sons Aaron Roy and Caleb Roy of Rome, Pa; the pride and joy of her life, her grandchildren: Matthew, Corbin, Levi, Harleigh and Zoey; her forever beloved husband Mark S. Roy of Rome, Pa; sisters Leeonda and Everett Thoman, Brenda and Nate Snyder, and Rhonda Ham all of Rome, Pa; her brothers Greg Barber of Endicott, NY; Jayson Barber of Elmira, NY; Jeff Barber of Florida; many special aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends also survive. She was predeceased by her father Earl Barber; grandmother Myra E. Fuller; and step father Alfred C. Murphy. A time of remembering the special gift Jul was to all of us will be held on Friday, September 14th at 11 am at the Sutfin Funeral Chapel, 273 South Main St, Nichols with Pastor Royce Roy, officiating. Interment and prayers of committal will follow in the Jillson Cemetery. A period of visitation and sharing memories will be held on Thursday evening, September 13th from 6-9 pm at the funeral chapel.
