When someone you love becomes a memory, the memory becomes a treasure…. Karen (Vandervort) Dymond, 66, of Owego passed away peacefully with her family at her side on Sunday, July 26, 2020. Karen was born on February 23, 1954 in Endicott, New York a daughter of the late Clarence and Rachel (Beynon) Vandervort. She was a graduate of Northeast Bradford High School class of 1972. On August 24 1988, she married Alton E. Dymond and together they have shared nearly 32 years of happiness. For over twenty years, Karen was a dedicated employee of Owego Free Academy. Karen had such a caring personality and gave so much to others. She was known to be a "mom" to many. Her happiness will shine in our hearts forever. Karen opened her heart and arms and lovingly cared for her great niece Vivian. Together they shared a special bond and Vivian was the light of her life for the past seven years. The day often started as they shared a special game "Creep Mousies" a favorite past time only the two of them knew how to play. Karen will be greatly missed by her husband Alton E. Dymond; her loving daughter Heather Dymond ~ the light of her mother's eye; her siblings: Jeff Vandervort, Tim Vandervort, Megan Horton, Lorrie (Jack) Rogers, Carl (Laura) Vandervort, Sue Carrington, and Joyce Vandervort. Many nieces, nephews, and great nieces, and nephews among them Hunter, Fisher, Madi-lyn and Vivian. Karen was welcomed into heaven by her parents; her brothers: Kenneth, Edward, Norman and Roy; a brother-in-law: Arden Carrington and a sister-in-law Mary Vandervort.
