Our hearts still ache in sadness, and secret tears still flow, what it meant to lose you, no one will ever know….Our loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and well known and respected farmer Kenneth W. Bellis, Sr., 77 of Oak Hill Road, Barton, NY passed away unexpectedly on Friday morning, September 5, 2008 at his home. He was born on September 27, 1930 in Easton, Pa a son of the late Roy and Elsie (Shoemaker) Bellis. He was a graduate of Owego Free Academy and following graduation enlisted into the US Navy where he proudly served his country from 1950-1954. A devoted and dedicated farmer, Ken will be greatly missed by his family, friends and his community. Ken is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 54 years, Mina (Barlow) Bellis; his children: Kenneth W. Bellis, Jr., of Mansfield, Pa; Molly and her husband David Hanville of Spencer, NY; Gary Bellis of Owego, NY; Timothy Bellis and his companion Bea of Barton, NY; Shawn and his wife Marlene Bellis of Barton, NY; a brother and sister-in-law: Wayne and Gloria Bellis of Barton, NY; a special sister-in-law: Rita Barlow; his special grandchildren: Mary, Kenneth III, Jason, Heather, DJ, Colleen, Jessica, Joshua, Brittney and Kyle; three great grandchildren, Chloe, Julia and Kaden, several nieces, nephews, cousins and their families also survive. Ken was predeceased by his parents, and siblings: LeRoy Bellis, Anna Barton, Madeline Mandeville, and Gareth Bellis. Abiding with Ken's wishes there will not be a period of visitation and funeral services. A private family service will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in the Nichols Cemetery.
