Kenneth Wayne Archibald, 69, of Owego, New York lost his battle to Cancer on Monday, January 23, 2023. Kenny was born on November 2, 1953 in Endicott, NY one of nine children of Eleanor (Nelson) and the late William Charles “The Mayor” Archibald. He was a graduate of Tioga Central High School Class of 1972 where he participated on the school’s baseball and basketball teams. Following graduation, Kenny enlisted into the US Army and proudly served his country from 1972 -1975. For many years, Kenny was a truck driver and enjoyed traveling over the country roads. Most recently, Kenny could be found tending to the grounds at Tioga Downs, he loved to be outdoors and visiting with those who would pass by. A knowledgeable craftsman, Kenny built his home and was a talented carpenter and could mechanically repair anything. Kenny had the biggest heart and was always willing to give to anyone in need. He enjoyed attending local races with his siblings, cheering on the Dallas Cowboys and always had a few scratch off tickets in his hand.
In addition to his mother, Eleanor; Kenny will be missed by his siblings: William C. Archibald, Jr., of Conklin, NY; Rodney Archibald of Ocala, Fla; Lonnie (Diane) Archibald of Barton; Donald Archibald, of Waverly; his sisters: Cheryl (Thomas) Ferris of Spencer; Sally Archibald of Owego; Deborah Archibald of Endicott; Ellen Archibald of Barton; several nieces, nephews and their families; many cousins among them Barney French and Louie French. He will also be missed by his canine companions Tiger and Brownie. Kenny was welcomed into heaven by his Dad William Charles “Archie” Archibald; his nephews: Timothy Hopkins, Roger Wheeler, Jr., and great nephew Derek Archibald.
Family and friends are invited to attend graveside services on Friday, April 14th at 1 pm at the Smithboro Cemetery where military honors will be accorded. Memories and condolences may be shared by visiting his guestbook at www.sutfinfuneralchapel.com
